The molecular structure of Viagra is as same as that of cGMP and performs the competitive binding mediator role of PDE5 in the corpora cavernosa, resulting in more cGMP. Viagra is effective only when there is enough sexual stimulation, without which there is not production or activation of Nitric oxide and there by cGMP. Tadalafil (Cialis) and Vardenafil (Levitra) operate in the same manner as Viagra.
Sildenafil is properly metabolized by hepatic enzymes. It is excreted by

both the liver and kidneys. It is generally taken one hour before intercourse on an empty stomach. Taking it along with heavy foods may delay the absorption of sildenafil. Even the top most effect might be reduced due to the lowering of plasma concentration.
